Aaron Swartz: I #demandprogress for the freedom to share academic work

This morning I woke up to hear the news that Aaron Swartz has died. My heart sank. Usually I mourn such a loss to our industry in private talking with friends and peers, not wanting to contribute to media hype. But Aaron’s story has inspired me to act to help clear his name and voice for progress over freedoms to share academic work. In the memory of his life I write this, for the very thing he worked for — our freedom to connect and share information through the Internet.
